Leadership

Ken Frank

Ken began his career in the construction industry as a journeyman carpenter, building and renovating residential and tenant build-out projects in the Bloomington area. After graduating from Illinois State University , he moved into customer service and project management for a privately held builder, in the northern suburbs of Chicago. After taking advantage of an opportunity to run land acquisition and development for his employer, he learned the nuances of project financing, site acquisition, planning, zoning and entitlements, and civil infrastructure design and construction.

In pursuit of his entrepreneurial spirit, Ken and a colleague began a home building company focused on the purchase and re-development of older infill parcels, prominent in the near northwest suburbs. In this start-up company, Ken and his partner were “hands-on” all aspects of operational management, acquisition, re- development, sales, and construction of residential projects, ranging from single family to 20-unit multifamily projects.

After a successful run in that marketplace, and after the death of his partner, Ken took an opportunity to move from smaller infill projects to large multi-use planned developments, for a publicly held company. Serving as a Division Vice President of Land and Development for a multimillion dollar company, he developed his skills in large scale organizational management; leading human resources toward the common goals of an organization delivering divisional revenues in excess of $100 million.

Ken received his B.S. degree in Business Management, from Illinois State University. He has been a member of the Urban Land Institute and Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago. He served 8 years as trustee on District 38 Board of Education, and 3 years asTrustee and Treasure for his local church. He and his wife of 18 years have four children, and are a licensed foster care family in the state of Illinois.
